Saskatoon Lindy Hop
Saskatoon Lindy Hop Inc. is a non-profit organization dedicated to promoting vintage style swing and jazz dancing, and the swing and blues music that goes with it, around Saskatoon and area. Founded in 2010, Saskatoon Lindy Hop organizes several social swing dances and special events throughout the year.
The styles of dance promoted by Saskatoon Lindy Hop developed primarily from the 1920's through the 1940's in the juke joints and ballrooms of America. Harlem, in New York City, was the birthplace of a dance called the Lindy Hop from which we take our organization's name. As well as the Lindy Hop we also promote dance styles such as Charleston, blues, and vernacular jazz. To learn more about these dance styles check out our links page.
Lessons
With the exception of casual beginner lessons at the start of many of our dances, Saskatoon Lindy Hop does not offer swing dance lessons. For swing dance lessons in Saskatoon be sure to check out Toon Town Swing.
